How durable is a blown glass sink?
Our sinks are very durable. We conduct in-house testing and find them to be very forgiving. We have never had a basin sink break in shipping. Never use water any hotter than your body can tolerate, and you will be fine. As well, these glass sinks will not scratch easily.
What's the best way to clean my glass sink?
Because glass is not porous, you can simply rinse with warm water using your bare hands for the most part. Or a soft cloth and Windex for extra shine and you're good to go! Sparkly mesmerizing glass bathroom sink!
How much extra does it cost to add the 24kt gold to the fantastic blown glass sinks?
Depending on the gold market and how much 24kt gold you would like in your piece, it may be anywhere from $150 up to $350 to add 24kt gold.
You can request any piece with or without the 24kt gold; it’s up to you.
How do I install my glass sink?
You install your sink like any other sink. However, we recommend you tighten only the fixtures by hand and use silicon to seal between the sink and countertop.
Drain assemblies and other hardware?
We create and ship only the hand-blown basin sink. As there are so many varieties of faucet hardware and drain assemblies, we leave that to the customer's personal preferences. We drill the hole in the glass sink, and it will allow a fit for any standard regular sink hardware.
Should I illuminate my glass sink?
Although the sinks are lovely either way, whenever possible, if you can add lighting, it will give your vessel even more of a "WOW" factor. You might use can lights, or eyeball lights, to shine directly onto your basin sink, or if you have a translucent sink, you can light it from underneath. Under lighting allows for a warm, soft glow coming from your sink at night. Remember to use a bulb that doesn't get hot!
How do you recommend the glass sink be mounted?
As these bathroom sinks are indeed works of art, most of our clients prefer to flush-mount them on top of the counter so that you can enjoy the beauty of the entire vessel. However, we do have many clients that partially drop the sink into the counter. And if you're considering lighting, then dropping the sink into the counter would be a must.
Measure twice, cut once?
Yes. If you're going to do a drop-in sink, as opposed to a flush mount, you might want to use a piece of cardboard as a template until you get the hole just the right size for your glass basin to drop in. It is always best to have the sink on site to measure before drilling your countertop.
What kind of sink warranty do you offer?
If you are the original owner and your blown glass bathroom sink breaks for any reason, we will replace it for 25 percent if you reorder a new sink or 50 percent off if you purchase something else from our inventory. If the damage/breakage is our fault, we replace it for free. Working with us is easy and fair. Customer satisfaction is of utmost priority to us.
What is the "dichroic glass" to which you refer regarding your glass vessel sinks?
Dichroic means two colors. When viewed from different angles, it appears almost holographic. We often refer to it as fairy dust, angel dust, rainbow dust.
Look closely, and you will see it glittering in our pieces. We think it adds a bit of "WOW" to your art! However, if you prefer no dichroic glass, just let us know.
How heavy are the beautiful glass wallflowers?
They weigh anywhere from 8 pounds for the smallest pieces to 15 pounds for the larger pieces. You should not need to reinforce your drywall; we've never had any issues with installing. It is always best to consult with your contractor when in doubt.
What do you use to install the blown glass platters?
We ship the glass art with a wire wrap around the back for quick installation. You would then hang them as you would any photograph or painting. We recommend "Ooks Hooks," which you can buy at Lowes, Home Depot, online, etc. These hooks advertise, "It won't fall unless your wall does." We like that kind of confidence!
Can you help me with installation ideas?
We can! If you send us a, straight on, high-resolution image of the area you want your glass wall sculpture to go, we can do a PowerPoint mockup to give you a rough, one-dimensional idea of placement, size, movement, etc.
The artist and team work closely with you to ensure the process is fun and seamless and that you receive precisely the glass wall installation that you desire for the focal point on your wall and in your room!
What about lighting the beautiful glass art wallflowers?
Whenever possible, lighting is always preferred to bring out the mesmerizing colors and stunning beauty of these brilliant works of art. We highly recommend you contact a reputable lighting company that specializes in glass bulbs for glass art. The costs are minimal, and this is a great "go to" group for all your lighting needs.
Will you install this beautiful contemporary glass wall art for us?
The pieces are quite easy to install yourself, as they will hang as you would any photograph or painting. However, for larger projects, and if you want us to do it "just because," we make ourselves available. There is an installation fee that we can discuss when placing the order.
How are the blown glass chandeliers assembled?
We start with a small interior cage. The cage is installed by your contractor in the ceiling, and then each glass element is linked to the cage using a sturdy carabiner. The process goes quickly and is quite fun to do as there is no wrong way to do it!
How massive are the blown glass chandeliers?
The weight of a glass art chandelier depends on the size and number of pieces. A hand-blown chandelier that is approximately two by three (2 x 3) feet and weighs approximately 200+/- pounds. However, it is always best to Contact Us to consult with the artist to confirm.
What about a chandelier lift kit for my glass art chandelier sculpture?
Yes! For the more ambitious projects, some of our customers like the option of being able to raise and lower the glass blown chandelier from ceiling to floor and back again. For this process, we recommend installing your blown glass chandelier on a lift system, which you can purchase from a company online we recommend — "Aladdin Light Lift." We are also happy to help with this process.
Will you install my beautiful glass art chandelier?
For a fee, we can send someone to install your chandelier. However, we have found that most any reliable, talented contractor and electrician can handle the job. We will always make ourselves available to discuss with them the details as to lighting, etc. It is our goal to make the process of purchasing your hand-blown glass art chandelier both fun and seamless. It is always our goal to exceed your expectations with every work of glass art!
How do I clean my blown glass chandelier?
We recommend "Hagerty Chandelier Cleaner." It is awesome. It sells for approximately $14 a bottle and is like a Windex application. Spread newspapers or a tarp under the glass art chandelier. Shoot the stream spray from the bottle up to the chandelier and soak it with this product. After a short period, the product dissolves all the dust and grime, it drips to the tarp, and what remains is a sparkly, clean, gorgeous blown glass chandelier!
Talk to me about pricing?
Pricing is based on several variables — the number of pieces, colors, whether the chandelier is lit internally or externally, size, density, shape, etc. Our pricing quote includes the design of your glass art chandelier, the internal cage of the chandelier, the pieces, and led lighting if requested. Pricing does not include shipping and handling; however, we can quote that. We also do not install the cage into the ceiling; we leave that to your professional contractor or electrician. We will, for an additional service fee, come to your site and install your glass art chandelier once the cage and lighting are installed by your contractor.
